Course Details

Our part 1 photography course is designed for those people that find themselves stuck in the fully automatic ‘Green Square’ mode. It is a gentle introduction into the more advanced features of your camera, designed to be informative and fun.

This training consists of classroom theory sessions mixed with some practical classroom exercises. Once you are comfortable with the features of your camera and how to control them, we will move onto some practical photography exercises.

The exercises are designed to put into practice the things that you will have learnt earlier. This will be followed by a group review of the practical session images and a question and answer session.

On this course, you will learn :
  • How to use aperture priority mode.
  • How to control the depth of field in your pictures.
  • How to achieve the sharpest possible shots.
  • A basic understanding of exposure.
  • The basic rules of composition.
You will need to bring your own DSLR with you, as the course will teach you how to use the features of your camera to produce more professional looking images.

The course will run from 10am to approximately 4pm. While we hope to run the practical session outside, in very inclement weather we may decide to run this session indoors.

All course participants will receive a certificate at the end of the day.
